HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
Hey everyone! And welcome to the first day of 2016! Seeing as how the most-commonly made New Year’s resolution is to “get in shape” or “start exercising”, I thought it would be appropriate to start the year with one of my favorite circuit workouts you can do at home with no equipment required! Now – don’t let the title fool you… this may be a “beginner” workout, but please don’t mistake that for easy! Here we go – first workout of the new year going in 3, 2, 1…

The Warm Up
Take 2-3 minutes to get the blood flowing. Take a lap outside, run up and down your stairs, jumping jacks, etc, will all get your muscles warmed up. Or here is a quick 3-minute video I shot of one of my favorite pre-workout warm-up routines.
Circuit 1
10 Push Ups
20 Sit Ups
30 Squats
Circuit 1 – Repeated 3 times and then move on to Circuit 2
Circuit 2
10 Lunges (each leg)
20 Triceps Dips
30 Crunches
Cricuit 2 – Repeated 3 times

These are awesome! I can’t wait to start them and use them to get my sorry rear in gear and loose some weight! And I love that I can do them at work…before or after school (I teach Kindergarten)! Hopefully it will give me more energy too!

Sara – I’m stoked you like this workout! As a kindergarten teacher I can only imagine how exhausted you are and I applaud your efforts to take care of yourself in addition to your kids. Thanks for your comment!
