Step AND HIIT AND weights? Yep – this one is every bit as good as it sounds!

Any of you ever done a step class before? They are NUCLEAR!

I consider myself to be in decent shape – one day I wandered into a step class thinking “this will be a good way to mix up my workout activity a little bit” and nothing more.

I had no clue what I was getting into. I was a tired, sweating puddle after I was finished. Since then I have loved these classes and the dynamic they can add to your workout routine.

I found this one on YouTube and LOVE it. It incorporates step, HIIT, and weights together for one amazing workout you can do at home.

Check it out – hope you like it as much as I do.

WHAT IS STEP AEROBICS?

Step aerobics is a type of exercise that uses a step, bench or box to assist you with movements. During the workout you step up, down, over, and around the step in different patterns.

Step aerobics typically is a lower body workout as you are mainly using your legs and the step. However, today we are taking it to the next level with this total body step workout.

Step exercises get your heart and breathing rate up to give you a great cardio workout. With this video combining step and HIIT and weights, you will get a killer workout that will burn some serious calories.

WHAT MUSCLES DO YOU WORK WITH A STEP WORKOUT?

Step workouts typically target your lower body and core muscles as you move up and down from the step.

However, this is a full body step workout and you’ll be working much more than your core and lower body.

With this video, you’ll be doing step exercises while using dumbbells to give you some strength training along with the cardio.

The dumbbells along with the step moves will also work your arms and upper body. And that’s not all- you’ll also use the step for more than just stepping- you’ll also be doing push ups, jumps, etc. to target every major muscle group in your body.

CAN YOU DO A STEP WORKOUT WITHOUT A STEP OR BENCH?

Yes- if you don’t have an aerobics step, you can still get a great workout from following this HIIT step exercise video. Be creative- use a small bench, bosu, sturdy box, or even the floor.

CAN STEP AEROBICS BURN BELLY FAT AND HELP YOU GET A FLAT STOMACH?

Aerobic exercises are effective for weight loss because they tend to burn more calories than many other types of exercises. Aerobic exercises are exercises that increase the heart rate and breathing rate for the length of the exercise session.

Step exercises are a type of aerobics that can help you burn a lot of calories. If you continually do exercises that help you burn many calories, you will be able to keep extra fat off of your body, such as around your stomach and waistline.

High intensity step training is a great way to burn fat and get you towards your weight loss goals.

Weight loss, and a flat stomach, will occur when you are burning more calories that you are consuming. Any exercise that helps you to burn calories will be effective as long as you are also eating right.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF STEP WORKOUTS?

Step workouts are a great cardio workout that will bring many benefits.

A step workout will help you increase your strength and stamina. You will get your heart rate and breathing rate up and burn calories for a healthy heart and lungs, and strong muscles.

You’ll also benefit from increased energy levels and reduced stress as you do this type of exercise.

Step workouts are a great aerobics workout and can also be a great way to strength train. By adding dumbbells and using your arms with the step movements, you can get an effective arm and leg strength workout as you step up and down.

If you are looking for lower-impact step exercises, try this one with some modifications. Use a lower step that is just a few inches tall, or just use the flat ground instead of a step for a slightly easier workout that won’t stress your knees or as much.

Step workouts are great for those days when you need to do a workout at home. Try out this video at home today.
