WHAT IS KICKBOXING?
Kickboxing is an intense martial arts inspired workout that combines boxing with karate. In a kickboxing workout, you’ll learn a mix of punches, kicks, knees, and elbow strikes.
Kickboxing is a non-contact workout. All punches and kicks are directed into the air or into pads.
The fast-paced moves are usually choreographed to music to get you pumped and moving. For the arm punches you’ll do a mixture of jabs, crosses, hooks, and uppercuts. For the legs you’ll include a combination of knee strikes, front kicks, roundhouse kicks, side kicks, and back kicks.
If you’re ever stuck in a workout rut or looking for something more motivating to add to your fitness routine, try doing a kickboxing workout once this week.
Kickboxing teaches you martial arts techniques combined with heart-pumping cardio. You’ll get a total body workout and get yourself into shape in no time.
WHAT MUSCLES DOES KICKBOXING WORK?
Kickboxing engages every major muscle group in your body, with a focus on your core. It is a great workout for your whole body as it combines cardio with strength training. You’ll tone muscle and burn fat during an intense kickboxing workout session.
From all the punches, kicking, and strikes during kickboxing, you will work your legs, hips, lats and arms. Plan on your forearms being sore the next day after you try kickboxing.
You’ll also get a great core and ab workout from all the leaping and center-focused movements.
The rapid kicks and punching movements will also help you improve your coordination, flexibility, balance, and help you build faster reflexes.
Kickboxing burns a lot of calories, but can also help you gain muscle. The intense activity stresses muscles in your upper and lower body and core to get you stronger.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF KICKBOXING?
Not only is kickboxing a great way to burn a lot of energy, but it’s also an awesome way to relieve stress. Kickboxing will give you an energy boost and bring a bunch of other great benefits.
Kickboxing will increase your confidence levels. It helps you to release endorphins that give your mood a boost- you’ll feel more confident, happier, and more positive after your workout.
You’ll also improve posture and coordination with kickboxing. You’ll learn to focus your energy as you go through the rapid movements of kicking and punching to improve your reflexes and coordination.
A kickboxing workout will also help you to build your core muscles. The muscles in the abdominal wall are targeted in a kickboxing routine as you use your waist, torso, and ab muscles for balance with each move.
Additionally, you’re going to be learning some tips for self defense during a kickboxing workout while improving your endurance.
As you are burning a lot of calories fast, this is a great type of workout to tone and tighten your whole body.
With all of theses benefits, why not try this kickboxing workout today? Kickboxing is such a great workout for your body and mind, so get out of your fitness rut and give it a try.
