You choose – on the eighth day of Christmas you can have “maids-a-milking”, or on the eighth “Day of Fitness” you can have a killer strength workout! You choose! We’re continuing our December workout series: every two days another new workout all the way up through Christmas Eve. Today’s post is dedicated to some good ‘ol power moves.
Strength training is a crucial part to any fitness routine. Try out these six moves to increase muscle strength and tone, and give you power to push through until December 25!
Push-ups
I love push-ups; my go-to for arms, chest, and shoulders.
10 reps
Squat jumps onto stair
Squats are good; squat jumps are better; but throw in a stair/box and you’re in for a whole new ballgame!
10 reps
Mountain climbers
Great for the arms/shoulders, abs, and hips.
1 minute straight
Bear crawl
Throw back to football training! Great way to get the hear going!
1 minute
Push-up burpee
Like burpees weren’t your favorite, anyway?! Add a push-up to the down phase!
10 reps
Superman Plank (Plank Punches)
We’re planking, but add alternating “punches” by lifting one arm straight out in front of you while raising the opposite foot off the ground. Repeat on the other side making one rep.
10 reps
Repeat the whole thing 3-4 times as your time/muscles/body/mind/kids/schedule/willpower allows!!
