You need to be strength training. 

As the author here at Tone-and-Tighten.com I frequently get emails from females asking me about strength training. The biggest concern is wanting to slim down and tone up but without putting on bulk.

I get this question so much I actually decided to put it in a blog post – you can read my Tone vs Bulk explanation here. Suffice it to say strength training in women boosts metabolism, results in greater fat loss, tightens muscles, and simply makes you healthier. When your muscles are strong they are more efficient and better-able to support you throughout whatever activity you’re undertaking.

That’s why today for T&T’s “Weekly Workout Plan” I decided it would be cool to share 10 of my favorite at-home strength-training routines specifically designed for the ladies looking to Tone and Tighten.

Are you strong enough for our newest WOD? 

Well, the name is almost entirely appropriate – “The Dirty Dozen” is actually a classic WWII movie from the 60’s that is one of my old man’s favorites. I thought “what more appropriate title for this workout? Kind of feels like fighting a battle!”

Today we’re doing 12 sets of 12 reps of four of my favorite bodyweight exercises. That’s right – 144 of each of the following exercises to increase strength, shred fat, and (of course) Tone and Tighten.

Two days later and I’m still walking funny… Hope you enjoy it!

First and foremost, CONGRATULATIONS!

I assume if you’re reading this post there will be a pretty significant life change for you in the next 6–9 months.

Truth be told, someone near and dear to us just announced that she was pregnant (NOT my wife) and was asking about some workouts that would be safe for her to do.

I told her that I would come up with something for her and voila – here we are.

In all honesty, pregnant patients are among my favorite to work with. Strengthening key muscles in your back and hips can result in a much healthier (dare I say happier) pregnancy.
