In the world of health and personal fitness, consistency is crucial! As a physical therapist, one of the most frustrating things that I hear from my patients is that they have stopped doing the exercises that I recommended for them. “Well I was feeling so much better so I didn’t do my exercises this week.” Unfortunately this sentence is usually accompanied by some sort of an increase in their pain. In regards to working out, diet, and fitness, the same thing tends to happen. “Well I wasn’t seeing results as fast as I wanted so I stopped working out.” All too often we lose sight of our goals and (more importantly) the small, daily steps we need to be taking in order to attain those goals. It’s these thoughts that led me to today’s “Fitness Motivation” post:

Get out today, right now, in this very instant, and do something amazing! “What,” you might ask? Truthfully – I don’t even care what it is as long as you get out and do something!! Go for a hike. Ride your bike. Take the kids to the park. Play in your backyard. My challenge to you is to do something today that you didn’t or couldn’t yesterday. Remember – the key to improving physique, strength, health, and overall well-being is CONSISTENT hard work (please notice the use of the word consistent!). This is not a “one-and-done” thing! It needs to be a change in the way you live today so you can enjoy a better tomorrow. Remember, today is a great day to do something amazing … So is tomorrow … The next day looks just as good…
