There is a reason why not many make it to the top.
There are many uphill battles in life. Fitness/personal health is certainly one of them. Getting there requires commitment! Waking up early, going to bed late, missing out on social activities, watching what you eat, restraint over indulgence, etc. A healthy lifestyle requires hard work. As with a difficult hike, putting one foot in front of the other as you ascend requires strength, commitment, and motivation. So why do we do it? What’s the reward? The answer for me – I really enjoy the view from the top.
There is a reason why there are phrases such as “uphill climb”, “conquering peaks”, and “view from the top”. The path of least resistance has never led anywhere remarkable. Unfortunately because it’s easy this is where most people find themselves. My fitness motivation to you this week: do something extraordinary! Fight your battle and conquer your mountain! Wake up early and work out. Say no to dessert or that late night snack. Lift one more rep. I promise it will all be worth it when you can stand on the top of your own personal mountain and look back with satisfaction thinking of the path it took to get you there. Make it happen – and start today!
