Read how I helped my sister-in-law lose 35 pounds after her 3rd pregnancy with this 8-week program!
I have three wonderful, amazing children. While they’re truly the biggest blessing in my life, kids can be hard on a woman’s body! After each pregnancy my wife would come to me for exercise and workout advice – basically stating “you got me into this mess, now you get me out of it”!! I would write 20-60 minute workouts for her she could do (mostly at home) to get back into her “pre-baby” jeans. The results were so amazing she started telling me “you should really put these workouts online for other people”. And just like that – Tone and Tighten was born!!
I recently had a sister-in-law, Elyse, come to me with the same problem. After her third child she wanted to get her pre-baby body back as quickly as possible. I wrote her an 8-week workout program with which she ended up dropping 35 pounds! Today I’m sharing that same program with all of you here on T&T! Keep reading below for her story and to get the same program she used to get these remarkable results…
Here’s Elyse’s story in her own words…
“When we were growing up, our mom was an amazing example to us of being in shape. After each child was born, she would exercise faithfully to get her body back to where she wanted it to be and she instilled a love of physical activity in each of us.
“Fast forward to today . . . Camille, Kristen, and myself each have three children. And with each kid, we have found that it gets harder and harder to work that baby weight off! Not only are you surviving on little sleep, but you are taking care of kids around the clock, making it hard to find the time to work out!
“We presented this problem to Camille’s husband, Jared – who happens to be a physical therapist and the blogger behind the health and fitness blog Tone and Tighten. He works with people everyday who want to get into shape and writes them exercise programs, so we asked him to write one for us that we could do at home. Finding time to go to the gym with a newborn wasn’t exactly possible for me . . . I needed something that I could do while the baby slept in her swing, leaving me only 30 minutes to squeeze a workout in!
“So Jared took the challenge and came back with two workout plans- an 8 Week Workout Plan for Beginners and an 8 Week Workout Plan for an Intermediate/Advanced level. We took his plan and put it to the test!

Doesn’t she look amazing! We actually ran through the program twice with Elyse – she dropped about 22 pounds during the first 8 weeks and another 13 during the second 8-week period.
During this time, Elyse didn’t own a gym membership. In her own words she was “a little intimidated by the gym“, but really didn’t have the time to go with 3 kids under the age of 5 at home including a newborn. The workout I designed for her took 20-60 minutes/day with little equipment required. According to her – “I’m not going to lie – the workouts were hard! They helped me push myself and I was usually sore the next day! But the results were amazing and kept me going throughout the whole time.“
Of course diet is crucial to any weight-loss venture. We monitored her caloric intake with the “My Fitness Pal” app on her phone. During the 16-week time-frame she did this program she averaged consuming around 1600 calories per day. She actually used a lot of the recipes found right here on Tone and Tighten including 25 Healthy Recipes on a Budget, Top Ten Recipes of 2014, and 100 Healthy Weight Watchers Recipes.

“8-Week Beginner Plan“: Inside the beginner program you will find four workouts per week for an entire eight weeks. While the workouts are designed for beginners, do not mistake that for easy! It will be a challenge, and it will be difficult, but if you can stick with it and challenge yourself to daily improvement I guarantee that you will see incredible results!

The emphasis here is hitting the workouts hard – we’ll work on shredding your arms, abs, legs, and just about everywhere in between! The perfect transition into “phase 2” of this program or for anyone looking to step things up a notch.

*Each ebook comes with both video and instructional workouts. Please keep in mind that often you will need access to your computer, tablet, or phone when doing these workouts. Also, in order to see the best results for many of these workouts I suggest you utilize some form of resistance. The easiest thing to pick up is a pair of dumbbells. You can get them pretty cheap on Amazon.com or Walmart.com or check out your local goodwill store for a used set. If you don’t have dumbbells and don’t want to buy them, cans of food and water bottles work well, also. Anything to offer a little resistance!
