Planks are one of my favorite core strengthening exercises. There are actually few exercises that engage as many of the abdominal muscles as effectively as planks do. But did you know that there are actually numerous variations to a standard plank that can emphasize different muscle groups and add variety to this already great exercise? As part of Kohls’ “Make Your Move” campaign today I wanted to share 25 plank variations to help tone and tighten your midsection. Here we go!

3. Plank with shoulder touches
4. Plank with alternating hip touches
5. Plank with march
7. Up down plank
8. Spiderman plank
9. Plank punches
10. Knee to inside elbow plank (high plank)
11. Traveling plank
12. Plank jack
13. Plank walkout (hands)
15. Side plank with hip dip
16. Side plank with hip abduction
17. Side plank crunch
19. Pull through plank
20. Plank with tricep kickback

22. Alternating T Plank
25. Reverse plank with leg lift
I challenge you this week to “#MakeYourMove” by incorporating some of these new exercises into your workout routine! I promise that the inclusion of some of these exercises will work your muscles differently to add strength and definition in areas you wouldn’t otherwise get it!
