“If you like pina colada… and getting mad, awesome gains…”
Piña colada is one of my favorite flavors. The fresh blend of pineapple and coconut reaffirms my belief that I should have been born on an island somewhere! I like it so much I decided I needed to make it into a protein smoothie. After a few different tries with a few different products I finally arrived at the combination that I like the best… and today I wanted to share it with you! Keep reading for my favorite “Piña Colada Protein Smoothie” recipe and prepare to be whisked away to your island in the sun!
You guys have heard of Blendtec before, right?! Silly question, I know! They’re the makers of the most amazing blenders on the market! I love the ease with which my Designer 725 Blender whips up these delicious concoctions. Throw on the awesome Twister Jar attachment that is just the perfect size for single servings, and you’ve got nutrition prowess to be reckoned with! I decided I needed to show you guys how easy it was so I made this little video – channeling my inner Rachael Ray on this one as this is my first video outside the a gym!

2/3 C coconut milk (I use this almond coconut milk to cut down on fat)
1 package (5.3 oz – 150 g) coconut Greek yogurt (This one from Chobani or this one from Yoplait are my favorites)
1 scoop protein powder
1/2 banana – sliced and frozen
1 C pineapple chunks (fresh tastes better, but you can get it frozen to save on time!)
Put all the ingredients in your blender and blend!! Doesn’t get much easier than that!
This one will have you on a tropical island paradise in no time… AND emphasize muscle repair and growth so you can recover quicker and smash your next workout! Best of both worlds!

Do you have a favorite brand of protein powder you like to use?
Hi Erin! I really like Isopure, but there are two brands (6 Star and Body Fortress) that you can buy at Smith’s and Walmart that are also really good. The best advice I can give you is read the label before buying! You want one with high protein, but low calories, cholesterol, and fat (some of them really pour on the additives!). Also be mindful of the serving size – some will boast 30 g protein per serving, but it’s 3 scoops per serving! Hope this helps and thanks for following T&T!
