Anyone for barbecue?
I love barbecue! Ribs, brisket, chicken… you name it – if it’s barbecued I am all over it! One of my absolute favorites, though, is definitely pulled pork sandwiches! This is actually one of my all-time favorite pork recipes on my wife’s website (Kalua pork on www.sixsistersstuff.com); I just decided to smother it in some homemade barbecue sauce! It cooks for most of the day in the slow cooker and makes the whole house smell absolutely amazing! The hardest part (besides waiting for it to cook) is keeping portions in control! Remember – it’s only skinny if you eat the recommended serving! Hope you enjoy it as much as my family did!
Ingredients:
1 2-pound center cut pork tenderloin roast (boneless)
2 teaspoons Hickory liquid smoke
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon sea salt
1/4 cup water
Directions:
Trim the fat off of your pork roast. Stab it with a fork multiple times to tenderize the meet. Cover half the roast in 1 teaspoon of liquid smoke, half a teaspoon of garlic powder, and half a teaspoon of sea salt. Flip the roast over, tenderize with a fork, and cover with the remaining 1 teaspoon liquid smoke, half teaspoon garlic powder, and half teaspoon sea salt. Spray your slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray. Put 1/4 cup water in the slow cooker followed by the roast. Cook on high for six hours. Remove roast from crockpot and shred with two forks (The meat should practically fall apart). Return shredded meat to slow cooker (I tried to skim off whatever fat may be left over in the slow cooker first). Add Jared’s homemade barbecue sauce to the meat and coat it thoroughly by stirring with a fork/spoon. Serve on your favorite whole wheat bun!
