“I get winded really easily…”
“I just don’t feel like I have endurance…”
“I wish I could work out for longer…”
Since starting Tone-and-Tighten.com I have received numerous emails from people looking to improve their cardio. While the goal may sound different – “I want to run longer”, “I want to work out harder”, “I want to be able to walk around the block with my kids” – the underlying theme is always the same: “I want to improve”. Cardiovascular function is a vital component to health. Having a strong heart and efficient lungs can help you through those long runs, long workouts, and even just long days! This week’s “Problem Areas” series post is designed specifically to improve your cardiovascular function. We’ll combine strength training with cardio endurance exercises to help eliminate the cardio “problem” from your life! Check it out below:
The Workout
20 High Knees
5 Burpees
Repeated 5 times as quickly as possible
Rest 2 Minutes
10 Sit Ups
Repeated 5 times as quickly as possible
Rest 2 Minutes
20 Alternating Toe Taps
5 Push Ups
Repeated 5 times as quickly as possible
Rest 2 Minutes
Then repeat the whole thing!! Try to get through as many sets as you have time for; 2-3 to really get the heart pumping and the cardio system burning!
