Happy Memorial Day weekend everyone! To me this is always the unofficial official start to summer! The weather is perfect, the shorts and flip flops are in full swing, and chances are pretty dang good that you’re headed to a barbecue somewhere this weekend! As a self-proclaimed barbecue junkie I’ve been to my fair share and know that healthy options are sometimes hard to come by. Between the hamburgers, potato chips, sodas, and millions of dessert options this can be a perfect derailer to any fitness plan. My secret? Make sure you bring a side dish that’s healthy and delicious! That way you know for certain that there will be at least one dish there that’s not only good but good for you!
