Countdown to Superbowl is T-minus one week and counting! I LOVE football – watching, playing, you name it. With the big game a week away I can’t help but get sucked into the hype. One of my favorite parts of the day is all the snacks that you’re allowed to eat for no other reason than it’s the championship game. Of course, being a healthy lifestyle blogger and advocate this presents somewhat of a problem – how do you throw a killer Superbowl party and serve things that aren’t going to kill off all the attendees (meaning food that won’t literally kill them with fat content as well as won’t kill them as in they pack up and leave as soon as the snacks are brought out!!)? Well search no further! I’ve compiled a list of 10 Healthy Superbowl Snacks that your friends won’t even know are actually (moderately) good for them! Have a great party without the championship calories! Hope you enjoy…
Confession time- I am a salsa junkie! I’ve been known to finish off entire jars by myself. This one is phenomenal – fresh and homemade!
My wife made these bad boys last year and they are PHENOMENAL! I’m a huge fan of Buffalo wings; bake them instead of fry them for a healthier option.
Clever take on the seven-layer dip with these individual servings! When shopping reach for the non-fat sour cream and the low-fat refried beans and you’re good to go!
Superbowl=meatballs at my house! Trick everyone with these delicious turkey meatballs as a fat-friendly aternative.
What drink do you serve at a Superbowl party? Try this out – it tastes PHENOMENAL and is a great alternative to soda, etc (I know, I know- it’s got soda in it; but use Sprite 0 instead and then throw strawberries and all this other goodness in there with it).
Nobody needs to know it’s good for them! Put it by the chips, crackers, or cut up some pita bread and watch your guests enjoy!
One of my favorites here at my house! My kids love them and I literally eat them by the handfuls (one of those “I’ll work this off later” kind of things)!
Guac is a staple at my house – this blogger makes hers up with some Greek yogurt in there to put an amazing twist on a delicious dip!
Onion rings and I have a love-hate relationship… I love onion rings and hate it when they’re gone! Here’s an awesome way to bake ’em up healthy.
We put this on everything – nachos, taquitos, quesadillas, tacos, etc. Use your imagination – maybe even set it next to a bunch of chips and a bunch of tortillas and let people go crazy!
Let the game begin! I’m pretty much starving just putting this post together and we’re still a week out! Hope you have a wonderful party that people will be talking about long after the final whistle blows!
Make it happen,
Jared
