My kids love Mexican food, so I have tried to find ways to make it a little more healthy.

Mexican food can be a totally healthy meal if you make sure to include lean meats, healthier fats, and tons of veggies. 

That’s why I’m sharing one of my favorite healthier Mexican meals. Keep reading below for the health benefits of ground turkey and black beans. 

This recipe is one that my kids love and I love that it’s loaded with lean proteins and fiber.

This is one of my favorite recipes to put together at the beginning of the week and eat it all week long – it makes for great lunches that you can grab on the go.

I love making protein bowls, it’s like a salad but with more healthy carbs and protein to help you feel full and satisfied throughout the day.

It’s super fast and easy to make and you can throw in whatever you have in the fridge. Feel free to add in other vegetables you love like olives, bell peppers, jalapenos, even sweet potatoes work great.

There are two things for certain about me – I love Mexican food and I love cooking outdoors.

It’s hard to beat the flavor of anything grilled, griddled, or smoked; wrap it in a tortilla or serve it with nachos and I’m done for!
