Yoga – not just for Yogi’s!

I gotta admit, the first time I was ever invited to a yoga class I was a little bit skeptical. As one who would MUCH rather lift something heavy, I went along with it for the sake of health and fitness and wanting to try something new. I must admit – I was completely and pleasantly surprised! Afterwards I felt looser, more relaxed, and it was a surprisingly good workout (hello shoulder stabilizers during downward-facing dog, high plank, and upward-facing dog sequence!). I feel that everyone could benefit from doing a few classic yoga poses everyday; so today I wanted to share with you my top 10 yoga poses you should be doing (or at least try them out!). Here we go!…

After some trial and error what I got was, well, AMAZING! All of the flavor with half of the fat and calories! Today I wanted to share with you the fruits of my labors – hope you enjoy these “Low Fat Creamy Chicken Enchiladas” as much as I do!…

It’s incredible to me how many sweeteners, additives, and preservatives are put in our food these days.

I am a compulsive reader of food labels and quite honestly, things are getting scary back there!

One of the best ways you can make sure your diet is on point is to know exactly what it is you’re putting in your body.

20 High Protein Snacks on Tone-and-Tighten

When I have patients who are trying to lose weight, I recommend that they increase their protein intake. It’s recommended that on average, women should eat about 46 grams of protein a day and men should eat 56 grams of protein a day. Not only does protein aid your muscles, but it keeps you feeling fuller longer.

Here are 20 of my favorite protein-packed snacks that I keep on hand all the time:

25 plank variations to tone and tighten your core

Plank you very much!

Planks are one of my favorite core strengthening exercises. There are actually few exercises that engage as many of the abdominal muscles as effectively as planks do. But did you know that there are actually numerous variations to a standard plank that can emphasize different muscle groups and add variety to this already great exercise? As part of Kohls’ “Make Your Move” campaign today I wanted to share 25 plank variations to help tone and tighten your midsection. Here we go!…
